Pegadaian Initiates Environmentally Friendly Qurban Program Without Plastic Bags
In the momentum of Eid al-Adha 1446 H/2025, PT Pegadaian initiated the Environmentally Friendly Qurban Program Without Plastic Bags (Eco Qurban).
This Eco Qurban step is a form of commitment to environmental preservation, as well as an invitation to continue to present sustainable values in every form of worship and social concern.
A total of 12 Regional Offices of PT Pegadaian throughout Indonesia together with FORSEPSI (Forum Sahabat Emas Peduli Sampah Indonesia) initiated the implementation of Eco Qurban which is more concerned with the environment.
Donate Qurban Animals
For Kanwil 1 Medan, PT Pegadaian allocated one cow to the New Normal Waste Bank located on Jalan Ring Road Gang Mekar Mulyo.
The cow was a donation from PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan to environmental activists who joined the New Normal Waste Bank, which is under the auspices of Pegadaian Medan.
The slaughtering of the sacrificial animals and the distribution of the meat were carried out at the New Normal Waste Bank, witnessed by Ferda Elita Putri as Assistant Manager of the TJSL Section of PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan along with the Head of the New Normal Waste Bank, Yasra Al Fariza.
Environmental Activists of the Waste Bank
Head of Public Relations and Protocol of PT Pegadaian Kanwil 1 Medan, Febrian Mega Putra, the Environmentally Friendly Qurban Without Plastic Bags program targets environmental activists at the New Normal Waste Bank, by donating 1 cow to be sacrificed in celebrating Eid al-Adha 1446 H.
According to Putra, his nickname, the initiation of the implementation of the qurban together with environmental activists of the Waste Bank, was not only carried out in the Kanwil 1 Medan area.
”The implementation of qurban together with environmental activists also took place in 12 Pegadaian regional offices. And one of them, Medan Regional Office 1, implemented it,” said Putra.
The spokesperson for Medan Pegadaian informed that the total number of Waste Banks fostered by Pegadaian Medan Regional Office I is 15 Waste Banks.
