North Sumatra Education Department: Renovation of 187 Classrooms Scheduled for September
The North Sumatra (Sumut) Provincial Education Department (Disdik) continues to accelerate the completion of various Regional Strategic Programs (PSD) in the education sector to ensure they are finalized on schedule by 2026.
These programs include the renovation of 187 classrooms—expected to be completed in September—and the construction of the Sukma Nias secondary school, which is slated for completion in December 2026.

Terang Dewi Susanti Ujung, Secretary of the North Sumatra Provincial Education Department, stated that the renovation of the 187 classrooms—comprising 70 work packages with a total budget of Rp 31,390,668,601—has currently reached an average physical completion rate of 70%.
“We will finalize these renovation works immediately,” Terang said during a press conference held by the North Sumatra Communication and Information Agency at the North Sumatra Dekranasda Pavilion, located at the North Sumatra Governor’s Office in Medan, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Meanwhile, the construction of the Sukma Nias secondary school, with a budget of 88,448,819,000 rupiah, is also being accelerated. Physical construction of the school is now 61% complete, with handover scheduled for December 2026.
“The school is expected to be ready by December 2026, after which classes will commence in 2027,” Terang added.
In addition, the North Sumatra Education Agency is accelerating the construction of 120 new classrooms with a total budget of 41,494,275,000 rupiah. This construction is part of the North Sumatra provincial government’s efforts to improve the availability and quality of educational facilities.
Meanwhile, various other projects under the National Development Planning (PSD) framework for the education sector have been completed. All public senior high schools (SMA), vocational high schools (SMK), and special education schools (SLB) in North Sumatra now have full access to electricity and the internet.
The North Sumatra Education Agency has installed electricity at seven educational institutions with a total budget of 4,417,700,000 rupiah. Additionally, the agency has installed satellite internet (Starlink) at 163 educational institutions with a total budget of 3,260,000,000 rupiah.

Dinas Pendidikan Sumatera Utara: Rehab 187 Ruang Kelas Ditargetkan Rampung September
Dinas Pendidikan (Disdik) Provinsi Sumatera Utara (Sumut) terus mempercepat penyelesaian sejumlah Program Strategis Daerah (PSD) di bidang pendidikan agar dapat rampung sesuai target pada 2026.
Program tersebut meliputi rehabilitasi 187 ruang kelas yang ditargetkan selesai September serta pembangunan SMA Unggulan Sukma Nias yang ditargetkan rampung Desember 2026.
Sekretaris Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Sumut, Terang Dewi Susanti Ujung, mengatakan rehabilitasi 187 ruang kelas yang tersebar dalam 70 paket pekerjaan dengan total pagu anggaran Rp31.390.668.601 saat ini rata-rata telah mencapai progres fisik 70%.
“Pekerjaan rehabilitasi ini kami tuntaskan segera,” ujar Terang pada temu pers yang digelar Dinas Kominfo Sumut di Anjungan Dekranasda Sumut, Kantor Gubernur Sumut, Medan, Rabu, 16 September 2026.
Sementara itu, pembangunan SMA Unggulan Sukma Nias dengan pagu anggaran Rp88.448.819.000 juga terus dikebut. Progres fisik pembangunan sekolah tersebut saat ini telah mencapai 61% dan ditargetkan rampung pada Desember 2026.
“Ditargetkan rampung Desember 2026, dengan kegiatan belajar-mengajar direncanakan mulai berlangsung pada 2027,” kata Terang.
Selain itu, Dinas Pendidikan Sumut juga mempercepat pembangunan 120 ruang kelas baru dengan total pagu anggaran Rp41.494.275.000. Pembangunan tersebut menjadi bagian dari upaya Pemprov Sumut meningkatkan ketersediaan dan kualitas sarana pendidikan.
Di sisi lain, sejumlah PSD bidang pendidikan lainnya telah rampung. Fasilitas listrik dan layanan internet pada seluruh SMA, SMK, dan SLB Negeri di Sumut telah terpenuhi 100%.
Untuk fasilitas kelistrikan, Disdik Sumut telah memasang listrik di tujuh satuan pendidikan dengan total pagu anggaran Rp4.417.700.000. Selain itu, Disdik Sumut juga telah menyediakan layanan internet satelit (Starlink) di 163 satuan pendidikan dengan total pagu anggaran Rp3.260.000.000.
“Dengan ini, pada Tahun 2026 Fasilitas Listrik dan Layanan Internet di seluruh sekolah di Sumatera Utara sudah terpenuhi 100%,” kata Terang. ***rel
