Murung Raya Public Prosecutor’s Office cooperates with PKH Task Force to regulate illegal mining sites

The Task Force for Forestry Regulation has officially reclaimed 1,699 hectares of land used as a mine opening by PT AKT.

This action was taken during a working visit to inspect the site in the Murung Raya district, Central Kalimantan, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The inspection was conducted directly by Febrie Adriansyah, Head of the PKH Task Force, Special Crime Squad (Jampidsus), Lieutenant General Richard Taruli H. Tampubolon, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and Commissioner General of Police (Komjen Pol) Syahardiantono, along with the PKH Task Force team and spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak.

Murung Raya Public Prosecutor’s Office Involved in Deforestation

The head of the Murung Raya Public Prosecutor’s Office, Taufik, SH. MH also accompanied the PKH task force, led by the Junior Prosecutor General for Special Crimes of the Public Prosecution Service (JAM Pidsus Kejagung), Febrie Adriansyah, during the deforestation of the forest area that day.

Murung Raya District Attorney Taufik stated that the deforestation proceeded smoothly that day. As head of the Murung Raya Public Prosecution Service, he was also involved in the PKH task force’s activities that day.

“We fully support the work program of President Prabowo Subianto and the PKH task force regarding forest deforestation,” he said.

The return of this land to the state follows the revocation of the mining permit/Work Agreement for Coal Mining (PKP2B) by Order of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) No. 3714 K/30/MEN/2017 of October 19, 2017.

Identified Violations in the Mining Sector

Based on the results of the retrospective review, the PKH Task Force identified a number of fundamental violations, namely:

1. Permit Violations: The mining permit was revoked in 2017 because PT AKT used the PKP2B as collateral for debts without permission from the Indonesian government.

2. Illegal Activities: The company is suspected of continuing mining operations until December 15, 2025, without reporting the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) to the competent authorities.

3. Fines: Based on Ministerial Decree 391.K/MB.01.MEM B/2025 of the ESDM (Economic and Social Development Management), the company faces a fine of 4,248,751,390,842 Indonesian rupiah (approximately 4.2 trillion rupiah). This amount is calculated based on the mining fine of 354 million rupiah per hectare.

4. Asset Inventory: Field monitoring identified more than 130 operational vehicles and heavy equipment (such as trucks, dump trucks, and excavators) currently under surveillance.

PKH Task Force Spokesperson: On-site security tightened

PKH Task Force Spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak stated that criminal penalties may be taken against individuals strongly suspected of violating the law.

“Security has been beefed up on site, with 65 joint personnel from the 883rd Infantry Battalion and the 1013th/Muara Teweh Military District Command (Kodim) deployed to ensure a favorable situation during the ongoing legal process,” the PKH Task Force spokesperson concluded. ***adh
