Judge sentences suspect in Boru Siadari murder case to 11.5 years
The murder case of Erlince br Siadari in Medan Labuhan has finally been resolved in the Medan District Court. Sabar Siregar was ultimately sentenced to 11.5 years in prison.
It is known that the perpetrator and the victim were in a relationship, i.e., dating. Sabar could not control his anger due to jealousy.
Judge sentences suspect in accordance with the applicable constitution
The verdict was read by the panel of judges of the Medan District Court, chaired by Eliyurita. The judges found that the 42-year-old man was guilty of violating Article 456, paragraph (1), of Act No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, as stated in the first supplementary indictment.
“The defendant Sabar Siregar, also known as Regar, is therefore sentenced to 11 years and six months (11.5 years) in prison,” Eliyurita stated in her verdict.
Murder committed due to adultery
The judge’s sentence is lighter than the prosecutor’s request, which had demanded a 12-year prison sentence for Regar in the previous trial.
The prosecutor also considered Regar’s actions to be in violation of Article 456, paragraph (1), of Act No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
According to the indictment, this case arose from a year-long romantic relationship between Regar and Erlince.
Regar often stayed or slept at Erlince’s coffee shop on Jalan Yos Sudarso, in the village of Pekan Labuhan, Medan Labuhan.
Further investigation revealed that Erlince had a mistress or was having an affair.
Apparently, Regar discovered this and became jealous. He immediately decided to kill Erlince’s mistress.
The perpetrator committed the murder in the coffee shop/palm oil factory.
Regar searched for Erlince’s mistress on Wednesday evening (June 25, 2025).
After a long search, Regar couldn’t find him, so he targeted Erlince with his murder plans.
Regar committed the murder that same evening in a small room in Erlince’s coffee shop/palm oil factory.
Regar stabbed Erlince to death with a kitchen knife. He then fled, leaving Erlince bleeding on the floor.***
