Industrial presence must create employment for local residents
The Deputy Minister of Labor, Afriansyah Noor, emphasized that the presence of industry must yield concrete benefits for the surrounding community by creating employment for local residents.
According to him, the more employment is created for the local community, the greater the positive impact of the industry on the economy and general well-being.

Deputy Minister Afriansyah made this statement during a visit to PT Sheonary Javanesia INC in Temanggung, Central Java, on July 29, 2026.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Labor spoke with the company’s management and the district government of Temanggung about strengthening labor relations, attracting local workers, and developing human capital to support industrial needs.
Following the discussions, the Deputy Minister of Labor inspected the production hall and spoke directly with employees, including people with disabilities. He praised the company’s commitment to providing employment to people with disabilities as an expression of an inclusive work environment.
“I see that labor relations between management and employees at this company are going well. Moreover, the company is neat and well-organized. Together, we must protect and further develop a well-managed industry like this, so that it can continue to grow and benefit the community,” said Afriansyah.

To support the local workforce, the Ministry of Labor is prepared to offer vocational training to the local population so that they possess the competencies that align with the needs of the industry. In this way, companies can find skilled workers more easily, while the community gains more employment.
“We hope that the company prioritizes local workers. We do not want local residents to be left without work. The Ministry of Labor is prepared to provide training so that the community possesses the competencies the industry needs,” he said.
In addition to creating more employment, Afriansyah emphasized the importance of companies that continue to improve the quality of their staff, pay wages in accordance with applicable regulations, and meet occupational safety and health standards (K3).
According to him, these steps are crucial for creating a safe, productive, and sustainable working environment.
Afriansyah urged the government of the Temanggung Regency to continue strengthening cooperation with the business community to ensure a favorable industrial climate and sustained investment growth.
