Honda PCX motorcycle thief surrounds residents of Banten Village, Lubuk Pakam
A man suspected of motorcycle theft was severely assaulted by residents of Banten Village, Sederhana Hamlet, Sekip Village, Lubuk Pakam District, Deliserdang Regency, around 9:15 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
The crowd, upon hearing that a motorcycle thief had been caught, immediately rushed to the scene. Unable to contain their emotions, they spontaneously threw punches and kicks, leaving the suspect severely injured.
Police and village officials immediately arrest the perpetrator.
Fortunately, the Babinkamtibmas (community police officer), along with the village chief and officials from Sekip, managed to keep the suspect out of the hands of the angry mob and brought him to the Lubuk Pakam police station for further investigation.
According to the information gathered, the suspect, identified as Siregar, is a resident of the Timbangan area of Cemara village, but lives in Sumber Rejo village, Pagar Merbau district. He is suspected of stealing a motorcycle belonging to Azhari, a resident of Sekip village.
The perpetrator’s modus operandi: borrowing the victim’s motorcycle and then pawning it
“The perpetrator allegedly borrowed the victim’s (Azhari) Honda PCX motorcycle, but it wasn’t returned after five days and was subsequently sold. The victim sought him out and found him in the hamlet of Sederhana. He was immediately arrested. Local residents, who suspected the perpetrator of motorcycle theft, were furious and immediately beat him. Fortunately, the village chief and Babinkamtibmas, Aiptu Sumardi, managed to keep the perpetrator from the angry mob,” said Iskandar, a resident of Sederhana.
This case is currently being handled by the Lubuk Pakam police, and the suspect is under investigation.***
