Governor Bobby’s plan to build Lasara Public Primary School in North Nias
The plan by Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution of North Sumatra to build and improve the educational facilities of Lasara Public Primary School in the North Nias district was received with enthusiasm by the community and school leadership.
The presence of better school facilities is considered crucial for supporting the educational process and improving access to education for local children.

Lasara Public Primary School was established in 2023 at the request of the local community, which needed a primary school closer to home.
Previously, there was a primary school, but it was located quite far away, making it difficult for children to attend.
“The idea initially arose because many children in the area wanted to go to school, but the school in the village of Hiligawoni was quite far away. Therefore, the parents decided to propose to the community leaders that a school be built nearby so that our children would not be neglected,” said Fitriani Hulu, director of Lasara Public Elementary School.
The facilities at Lasara Public Elementary School are currently still very limited. The classrooms used by the students are not yet permanent buildings. There are 53 students from grades 1 through 4 at the school, while there are only three classrooms.

The students in grades 1 and 2 even have to attend classes in a single room, separated by only a curtain.
“All of us at Lasara Public Elementary School, and I as the director, are very happy and grateful for the extraordinary attention and care the governor is devoting to our school. We hope that this help and support will continue,” said Fitriani.
The development plan has also received appreciation from the parents. Yarni Hulu, a resident and parent, expressed his gratitude to Governor Bobby Nasution for the attention the Lasara Public Elementary School is receiving.
According to Yarni, the existence of the Lasara Public Elementary School is a great asset to the community, as children previously had to walk a considerable distance to reach other schools.

“Oh, if it is a two-hour walk from my house to the other elementary school,” said Yarni.
Most residents in the vicinity of the school are families with limited financial means. As a result, some children have to walk from home to school.
Parent Yarma Harefa expressed a similar opinion. She chose Lasara Public Elementary School because it is close to her home, but she does not have a motorbike to take her children to the more distant school.
“We chose Lasara Public Elementary School because my house is also close by. If we had chosen a school further away, we would have limited transportation options, and we also do not have a motorbike to take our children,” said Yarma.

Yarma also expressed her appreciation for Governor Bobby Nasution’s plan to build the school building. She hopes that the construction of the school can be realized soon so that students can learn more comfortably.
“Yes, so we hope that with his visit today, the governor can create a more comfortable learning environment, one that is better than the current one,” said Yarma.
Yarni Hulu echoed Yarma’s words and once again expressed her gratitude. She said that the government’s attention to the Lasara primary school is very valuable to the community because the school is located close to residential areas.
“We want to thank the governor, because there is a lot of attention at our school here in Lasara, particularly from the government,” said Yarni.
