Governor Bobby Nasution establishes himself on the Nias Islands

Hundreds of residents gathered at Binaka Airport in the Nias Regency to welcome the arrival of the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution. The warm reception, including the offering of durians, marked the beginning of the governor’s visit to the Nias Islands.

The residents’ enthusiasm was clearly evident from the moment they heard that Bobby Nasution would be making a working visit and working on the Nias Islands.

The presence of North Sumatra’s highest-ranking official is expected to accelerate development in the region, which includes the Nias Regency, South Nias, West Nias, North Nias, and the city of Gunungsitoli.

Residents waiting outside the airport arrival hall carried posters to welcome the Governor of North Sumatra. Some had also laid out durians as a sign of respect and welcome. “Sauhagele, sir, welcome to Nias, sir,” the inhabitants called out, after which they handed two bunches of durians to Governor Bobby Nasution.

Bobby Nasution received this welcome and expressed his gratitude for the community’s enthusiasm upon his arrival on the Nias Islands.

“I have just arrived and I have been given a durian. Let’s eat it tonight, okay? I have just arrived and want to inspect a few spots first,” said the governor, while returning the residents’ handshakes one by one.

After receiving the durian, Bobby saw that the fruit had been neatly tied with bamboo. He felt that the hard work of the residents deserved appreciation, even though they had repeatedly refused to pay.

“I tried to tie this up, but I can’t just accept it. This is a token of appreciation, if I can’t buy it,” said Bobby, as he pulled out his wallet.

After being welcomed by the community, Bobby Nasution expressed his gratitude to the residents of the Nias Islands.

He and his entourage then inspected the condition of schools and bridges in the Nias district and the city of Gunungsitoli, as part of their first workday on the Nias Islands. ***rel
