The incident was experienced directly by a rubber farmer named Holid Hasibuan (50). At that time he was preparing to tap his rubber trees around the Batang Kumal River.
According to residents, the incident occurred at around 14.00 WIB, not long after Friday prayers. Holid, who was accompanied by his son, Hamka (11), suddenly saw a tiger appear around the plantation location.
Spontaneously, the two of them fled 3 kilometers towards the residential area. As a result of the incident, Holid experienced severe shock and was unconscious after arriving home.
“Until today, Holid is still in shock and has not dared to return to the garden,” said Head of Hamlet 3 Pudun Jae, Hamdani Harahap.

Responding to the report, Head of Pudun Jae Village, Riski Ibrahim Siregar, stated that his party had appealed to residents to increase their vigilance and not to go to the fields or rice fields alone.
“We ask residents to temporarily refrain from activities in the fields. If necessary, it is better to go in groups,” he said.
Riski also added that he was on his way back to the village and would immediately coordinate with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) to conduct further searches and identification.
“I will immediately meet with the BKSDA to take steps. It is not yet certain whether it is a Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) or another species,” he added.
In addition to Holid, another resident also reported hearing a loud roar from the direction of the garden on Friday morning at around 09.00 WIB.
“This morning, a resident reported hearing a tiger roar from the direction of the incident,” said another Hamlet Head, Naloan Siregar, separately.
For now, a joint team from village officials, Babinsa, Polmas, and representatives of residents have coordinated to review the location and await the arrival of the BKSDA team to conduct further monitoring of the possible presence of the wild animal. ***
