Asian Agri Strengthens Ties During Ramadan in North Sumatra

During the holy month of Ramadan, Asian Agri organized a fast-breaking event with the media on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Karibia Hotel in Medan.

In the spirit of “Spreading Kindness, Replanting Hope,” this event served as a platform to strengthen ties and solidarity with the press in North Sumatra in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Journalists from various media outlets in Medan were present. In this meaningful Ramadan atmosphere, the company also invited 20 orphans from the El-Khair Zikir Assembly to share their joy, further strengthening ties and solidarity in the lead-up to the fast-breaking event.

The media plays a strategic role as a communication bridge between companies and the public

Herman Sembiring, Regional Head of North Sumatra at Asian Agri, emphasized that the media plays a strategic role in communication between companies and the public.

“The media serves as a link between companies and the public. Through our media partners, information, clarifications, and stories about partnerships and social contributions can be conveyed in a comprehensive and balanced way,” said Sembiring.

According to Sembiring, the relationship built thus far is based on mutual trust and open communication. Amid the constantly changing dynamics in the sector, such dialogue is crucial for maintaining a constructive understanding between companies and the public.

All parts of the oil palm plant can be utilized

Prama Yudha Amdan, Head of Corporate Communications at Asian Agri, agreed, stating that the spirit of spreading kindness is also reflected in daily business operations.

“The palm oil industry is unique because almost every part of the plant can be utilized, from the oil, which is used as food and energy, to the waste, which can be recycled into fertilizer or energy. This is the essence of a circular economy, where nothing is wasted; all components create value,” he explained.

He added that this potential can only have a positive impact if it is managed responsibly and consistently over the long term.

This commitment is realized through the use of superior seeds, sustainable cultivation methods, increased productivity without breaking new ground, and strengthened partnerships with farmers. According to him, sustainability cannot be achieved alone.

“This is the spirit of Partnering Better – growing together through mutually reinforcing collaboration,” he concluded.

Asian Agri’s relationship with the press remains strong

In his speech, the chairman of the Association of Indonesian Journalists of North Sumatra (PWI), which represents the North Sumatra press, H. Farianda Putra Sinik, expressed his appreciation for Asian Agri’s continued relationship with the North Sumatra press.

“We value Asian Agri’s long-standing and close relationship with the North Sumatra press. We hope this relationship will continue,” he said.

At the conclusion of the series of events, Asian Agri’s management expressed their hope that the good relationship with the North Sumatra press will continue to grow and be maintained.

This joint Ramadan serves as a reminder that open, honest communication and mutual respect will foster long-term trust with all stakeholders.

This trust is built through Asian Agri’s commitment to implementing the 5C philosophy—Community, Land, Climate, Customer, and Business—which places benefit and responsibility at the heart of every corporate action.

For Asian Agri, business growth must be accompanied by a genuine contribution to the community, the environment, and all parties that support the company. ***obs
