An industry with few competitors: Online store management for SMEs
The market for online store management for SMEs still experiences little interest and competition. This offers an opportunity for the younger generation looking to enter this industry.
Online store management for SMEs, including operators, customer service, and product listings, is not about selling products. It is about selling the expertise that keeps other people’s businesses running.
Many people have great products, but their businesses go bankrupt, not because the products are bad. They go bankrupt because they are tired of managing chats, writing descriptions, uploading products, handling complaints, and managing inventory.
The role of an operational engine
And when they get tired, orders drop, rankings fall, and eventually, the store goes bankrupt. This is where you play the role of the operational engine. You can support one store at a time. You handle chats, update products, upload 5 to 10 products per day, and keep the webshop tidy. You can earn IDR 1.5 million to IDR 3 million per month per store, depending on your hours and responsibilities.
If you manage three stores, you can earn IDR 4.5 million to IDR 9 million per month. And this can be done simply from a laptop or mobile phone.
Many SMEs on marketplaces lose revenue due to slow chat
Many SMEs on marketplaces lose revenue due to slow chat. On large platforms, a quick response has a major impact on conversion.
For example, a store receives 30 messages per day, but only 10 are answered because the owner is busy with production. Of those 30 messages, six people would buy something if they were responded to quickly, but due to the slow response, only two buy.
That is a difference of four transactions per day. If the profit per transaction is IDR 25,000, that means a daily loss of IDR 100,000. That is a monthly loss of IDR 3 million. So, if you offer a service worth IDR 2 million per month, the costs do not matter to them.
That is a saving, and it is a myth you need to debunk. People think that this kind of work is not a business, and that is a big mistake. This is a scalable service company. You can hire other administrators, establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), create templates, and voila, you build systems. It is a mini-agency model.
There is still little competition because many people are ashamed to be an administrator. In fact, a good administrator is the entrepreneur’s right hand. ***aitik
