A lawnmower in Tanjung Morawa finds a body hanging from a tree
Sumardi, a lawnmower, panicked and ran with his son to the bank of the Belumei River after seeing a body hanging from a tree. The river is located in Wakaf Alley, Hamlet I, Dagang Kelambir Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency.
The discovery of the body immediately shocked locals, who flocked to the riverbank to see who had hanged themselves on Sunday afternoon (February 15, 2026).
According to an eyewitness, the victim committed suicide.
According to the information gathered, the victim, who presumably died by suicide, has been identified as Muhamad Dani (30), also a resident of Hamlet I, Dagang Kelambir Village.
“A lawn mower found a body hanging from a tree on the bank of the Belumei River. He and his son alerted the village chief, after which residents came to the scene to view the body. Muhamad Dani, a local resident, recognized it,” said Zulham, a local resident, on Monday (February 16, 2026).
Police evacuate victim.
The evacuation and identification were carried out by the Tanjung Morawa police and the Inafis team of the Deli Serdang police. No signs of violence were found on the victim’s body. The police have provisionally concluded that the victim committed suicide.
According to Rian, head of hamlet I of Dagang Kelambir Village, the victim was indeed a resident of his village. He was immediately evacuated and buried with the other residents.
“My residents may be depressed because the victim lived alone and both his parents had died. Several residents who had seen the victim earlier seemed disoriented,” he concluded.***
