Attempt to smuggle 2 kg of methamphetamine to Jakarta thwarted
An attempt to smuggle 2 kg of methamphetamine to Jakarta was thwarted by officers at Silangit International Airport. Unfortunately, the owner managed to escape.
The owner was reportedly planning to fly to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta on Sunday (March 15, 2026).
Suspect wanted by police
“Before the bag containing the methamphetamine was inspected, the passenger fled immediately,” said an airport officer who wished to remain anonymous.
North Tapanuli Police Chief Ernis Sitinjak confirmed the discovery of 2 kg of methamphetamine at Silangit Airport. However, he stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
