Cargo plane carrying money crashes, killing 15 people
A cargo plane with money on board crashed on a highway near the Bolivian capital. As a result of this incident, 15 people were killed.
The plane also hit vehicles in the town of El Alto, close to La Paz, before crashing in a field.
People’s party money spread on the street
“About a dozen vehicles on the road were damaged and banknotes were scattered on the ground, an official said,” 9news reported Saturday (28/2/2026).
Images on social media showed people rushing to collect banknotes as police in riot gear tried to distribute them in the South American country.
Passengers were injured and died
Meanwhile, fire chief Pavel Tovar did not clarify whether the victims were on the plane or in a car on the highway near the airport in La Paz. However, he confirmed that a number of people were injured and killed.***
