3 Energy Sector Policy: Subsidized Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, outlined several key points regarding energy sector policy.

First, national fuel reserves—including diesel, gasoline, gas, jet fuel (avtur), and LPG—are above the national minimum standard, despite geopolitical tensions.

Second, thanks to the implementation of B50, Indonesia will have a solar energy surplus this year, and fuel reserves at the RDMP (Renewable Energy Storage Plant) in East Kalimantan are already operational.

Third, the government has decided not to adjust the price of subsidized fuel (current prices remain unchanged). Discussions regarding non-subsidized fuel are still ongoing, so no price adjustment has been implemented yet.

The Minister of ESDM urged the public to handle information wisely and to trust only information from the government. He also encouraged the public to buy fuel honestly and sensibly, for example by filling their cars with a maximum of 50 liters per day.

Finally, the price of Pertadex, or high-quality diesel, has not been adjusted either.

The government will continue to review prices in line with global price fluctuations, with the interests of the population, particularly the less fortunate, as the starting point. ***obs
