10-Year-Old Child Abused by Neighbor and Locked in Closet
A man in Kabanjahe has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 10-year-old child. The victim was then brutally locked in a closet.
The man’s initials are MT (48). This case came to light on Tuesday afternoon (January 13, 2026).
Victim’s Family Suspects Perpetrator
The head of the Public Relations Department of the Tanah Karo Police, Pedoman Maha of the AKP, stated that the incident began when the victim walked past the suspect’s house. The suspect called him and pulled him into his bedroom, where he committed the indecent act.
Shortly afterward, the perpetrator heard the victim’s parents calling for their child.
Panicking, the perpetrator stuffed the victim into a brown, two-door wardrobe. The perpetrator then left the house, claiming the victim wasn’t inside.
“The victim’s parents and family became suspicious and entered the suspect’s house to check every room,” he stated on Friday (February 13, 2026).
The perpetrator was arrested by Tanah Karo police.
At that moment, the victim’s older sibling heard a noise coming from the wardrobe, followed by banging. The victim’s parents shouted for the wardrobe to be opened. Neighbors who heard the noise immediately rushed to the scene.
The victim’s parents then contacted Tanah Karo police via the emergency number 110. Officers from the Women, Children, and Child Protection Units (Satres PPA and PPO) responded quickly, arrived at the scene, rescued the victim, and transported her to the Tanah Karo police station for further treatment.***
